Will Smith apologizes for slapping Chris Rock at Oscars

Will Smith apologizes for slapping Chris Rock at Oscars. Again, US actor Will Smith has apologised for slapping Chris Rock onstage at the 94th Oscars, March 27, 2022.

In a long video clip that he posted on his website, actor Will Smith apologizes again for slapping comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars earlier this year. He says that he has reached out to Rock but that he is not yet “ready to talk.”

The March awards event, which was televised live around the world, was overshadowed by an incident involving Smith, who later won the best actor award, who stormed the stage and punched Rock for making a joke about his wife.

“Chris, please accept my apology. My actions were improper. In the nearly six-minute video, Smith reaffirmed, “I’m here, whenever you’re ready to chat. ” He also responded to fans’ queries concerning the shocking incident that has damaged his reputation.

Shortly after the incident, Smith issued a formal apology; as a result, he was barred from the Oscars for the following ten years.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences did not take away the 53-year-best old’s actor prize for “King Richard,” despite his resignation from the organization.

Smith claimed that his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, who was seated next to him and grimaced as Rock made jokes about her, said nothing in the video that sparked his attack. The video was posted to social media on Friday.

He also apologized to Pinkett-Smith and the couple’s kids for “the heat that I placed on all of us,” saying, “I made a choice on my own.”

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor, who at one point in the video looks to be fighting back tears, says: “There’s no part of me that feels that’s the best approach to manage a feeling of disrespect or insults.”

Earlier this month, US Weekly reported that Rock addressed the slap during a stand-up performance in New Jersey.

“Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face,” he reportedly joked, before adding “I’m not a victim… I don’t go to the hospital for a papercut,” Rock addressed.
