At Wilmar, we are committed to the continuous development of our people as we understand that as a business we can only be as good as the individuals we employ, Reporting to the Head of Procurement, we are looking for a Procurement Officer who will create a strategic function that helps improve business profitability through the execution of strategic and operational procurement plans that are in alignment with the organizations strategic Goal.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
• Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
• Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
• Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.
• Prepare reports and updates as and when required
• Negotiate contracts, Improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.

Qualification, Skills And Experience

• Degree preferably in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or related fields i.e. Technical /Engineering /Production
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role
• Supply Chain and Procurement professional certification or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification will be an added advantage
